20 Ridiculously Romantic Dates Under $20

The average date costs anywhere between $80-$100. So let’s say that you and your significant other go out on a date twice a month…that’s nearly $200. Now in all honesty, that seems pretty reasonable. However, if you’re in a financial rut or trying to cut down on your expenses, that $200 could probably be put to better use.  For those of you who’d like to slash your dating budget without slashing the fun, here are 20 date ideas that are $20 or less:

  1. Have a picnic in the park.
  2. Grab some ice cream and go star gazing.
  3. Set up a bonfire in the backyard.
  4. Go apple picking.
  5. Prepare a candlelight dinner at home.
  6. Attend a free concert in the park (often held during summer months).
  7. Visit your local art or history museum.
  8. Host a sip and paint event at home.
  9. Go for a late night walk on the beach (for those of you who live near one).
  10. Go swimming.
  11. Play pool at a local bar.
  12. Go fishing.
  13. Take a trip to the zoo.
  14. Tour a local brewery.
  15. Visit a local animal shelter.
  16. Have a spa night at home.
  17. Go to a coffee shop.
  18. Watch airplanes land and take-off.
  19. Grab a few inexpensive bottles of wine and host a mini wine tasting.
  20. Play a game of tennis.
